Simmons Adaptive seeks an experienced legal/compliance professional to support a UAE-based client, focusing on export controls, trade compliance, and AI regulation. The role requires a qualified lawyer or legally trained professional with deep knowledge of controls and sanctions, and a collaborative, proactive mindset.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer or legally trained compliance professional.
• Strong experience in export controls (EAR, dual-use, sanctions, trade compliance).
• Technology, AI, cloud, or advanced computing sectors experience.
• Compliance programme design and management.
• Internal investigations and ethics programmes.
• Third-party due diligence, AML, anti-bribery and corruption.
• Ideally based in the UAE.
• Problem solver with collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Support client in UAE with export controls and trade compliance focus.
• Engage sponsor Partner and client team; collaborate regularly.
• Utilise firm resources and Know-how; participate in training and development.
• Contribute to high-quality resourcing for leading international clients.
