Senior Compliance Officer (SM16/17) - Dubai

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Compliance Officer (SM16/17) to join a leading energy markets firm in Dubai on a part-time basis. The role involves oversight of Financial Crime Compliance and Regulatory Compliance, ensuring standards are robust and aligned with regulatory expectations. The position is initially part-time with potential to become full-time in the future.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Regulatory Compliance Oversight:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance frameworks aligned with DFSA, FSRA, and other UAE regulations.
    • Monitor regulatory changes impacting energy markets and trading activities.
    • Draft, review, and update compliance policies and procedures.
    • Manage regulatory reporting processes for accuracy and timeliness.
  2. Financial Crime Compliance (FCC):
    • Manage AML, CTF, ABC, and Sanctions frameworks.
    • Perform risk assessments and ensure proper due diligence.
    • Oversee client onboarding, including KYC, CDD, and EDD.
    • Conduct transaction monitoring and investigate suspicious activities.
    • Coordinate AML regulatory inquiries and audits.
  3. Senior Management Responsibilities (SM16/17):
    • Hold senior management functions related to compliance.
    • Report compliance updates to senior management and boards.
    • Lead staff training on compliance obligations.
  4. Operational Involvement:
    • Participate in compliance monitoring, reviews, and investigations.
    • Collaborate with front-office, legal, operations, and risk teams.
    • Lead compliance audits and thematic reviews.
  5. Regulatory Engagement:
    • Serve as liaison with regulators and authorities.
