Job summary

Deriv is seeking a Senior Compliance Analyst to safeguard the business and clients by embedding a strong culture of compliance across operations. You will drive regulatory-aligned processes, leverage AI-enhanced tools, and contribute to continuous improvements across the organisation.

You’ll investigate, review, and report on compliance issues, liaise with product teams, and ensure due diligence and sanctions screening meet regulatory standards in a dynamic fintech environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in finance, economics, law, risk management, criminology, business studies, data science, management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of compliance experience in financial services, fintech, investment services, or another regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards, with experience in customer due diligence, transaction reviews, and sanctions screening.

Responsibilities

• Investigate flagged client accounts by analysing transactions and account activity to identify compliance concerns.
• Carry out comprehensive customer reviews and due diligence checks, and assess adherence to internal policy and regulatory requirements.
• Assess high-value deposit and withdrawal requests by reviewing transaction histories and applying internal review procedures through AI-powered tools.
• Screen clients against PEP lists, global sanctions databases, and adverse media, and decide when a hit is noise versus signal.
• Prepare compliance reports that stand up to scrutiny, and support regulatory filings where required.
• Explain compliance requirements to operational and product teams and suggest process improvements.
• Identify weaknesses in compliance processes and help fix them, not just flag them.
• Provide clear, defensible answers on complex compliance questions when the team is unsure.
