Aegis Group Inc. is seeking a Senior Trader to build and lead a limestone and dolomite desk for steel mills. The role requires taking ownership of the P&L, securing long-term supply, and driving bids, tender strategies and desk processes.

You will hire and mentor a small team and help design future commodity verticals. Candidates should bring 7+ years of trading in related fluxes, proven deal closures in the last 3 years, and deep knowledge of specs, logistics and risk controls to activate buyer

Formación

• At least 7 years as a trader in limestone and dolomite or closely related steelmaking fluxes.
• Verifiable value and volume closed in the last 3 years.
• Direct sales to steel mills with a buyer book that can be activated quickly.
• Supply-side knowledge: mines, quarries, processors and quality consistency.
• Command of specs (CaO, MgO, SiO2, LOI, sizing) and how mills consume them.
• Logistics expertise: rail, road, port, vessel, demurrage.
• P&L ownership; credit, counterparty and price risk control.
• Ability to lead a desk and hire juniors.

Job Description

Role Summary

The Senior Trader will build a trading book in limestone and dolomite for steel mills, bring existing buyer and supplier relationships, own the P&L, and lead and grow the desk.

Key responsibility

• Build the book to agreed volume and margin targets
• Secure long-term supply and offtake with mines and mills
• Run tender and bid strategy
• Set desk processes, risk limits and reporting
• Hire and mentor a small team
• Help design the next commodity verticals

Must-have

• At least 7 years as a trader (not only sourcing or sales) in limestone and dolomite or closely related steelmaking fluxes, including recent years
• Verifiable value and volume closed in the last 3 years
• Direct sales to steel mills (integrated and EAF) with a buyer book that can be activated quickly
• Supply-side knowledge: mines, quarries, processors and quality consistency
• Command of specs (CaO, MgO, SiO2, LOI, sizing) and how mills consume them
• Logistics expertise: rail, road, port, vessel, demurrage
• Exposure to government and PSU tenders and bidding
• P&L ownership; credit, counterparty and price risk control
• Ability to lead a desk and hire juniors

Good to have
