Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Manager to join our construction company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of our projects, ensuring financial and contractual management, and leading a team of estimators. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Monitor project costs and implement cost control measures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payment collection.
  • Contract Management:
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Handle contract disputes and claims resolution.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of estimators.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and competitive project estimates.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in estimating processes and methodologies.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks associated with projects.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies.
  • Client Relations:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare regular reports on project performance and financial status.
  • Conduct analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a commercial management role within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in managing a team of estimators.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, financial management, and risk management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office, project management software).
