Job Description

Role : Senior Cloud Engineer
Location : Abu Dhabi

Role Purpose:

• Design, implement, and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions.
• Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of cloud systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-based projects.

Key Accountabilities of the role:

• Design and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions.
• Experience in managing Oracle identity cloud service.
• Implement and maintain cloud services and software-defined data center technologies.
• Perform routine maintenance and system performance tuning.
• Ensure compliance with systems security policies.
• Administer public and private cloud systems, focusing on Oracle Cloud.
• Manage and control systems to provide IT services according to approved SLAs and OLAs.
• Provide 24x7x365 service and resolve any malfunctions to ensure service continuity.
• Implement automation for operational tasks after obtaining appropriate approvals.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to junior engineers.
• Document and maintain processes related to cloud operations.
• Provide OCI Infrastructure strategic planning and technical guidance supporting Oracle EBS Applications and Middleware within a cloud environment.
• Solve complex technical problems that may involve multiple technology layers including database, messaging, operating systems, application servers, and other middleware.
• Utilize effective communication, technical proficiency, application maintenance ownership, and the ability to work successfully with other business and technology personnel, and internal customers, to provide responsive support and maintenance.
• Contribute to programs and initiatives designed to advance company strategic priorities.
• Support the full life cycle spanning installation, configuration, patching, cloning, security, upgrades, user maintenance, troubleshooting, backup management, performance tuning, table space management, data recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Create and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate with functional teams, developers and clients.
• Work collaboratively within an Agile development environment.
• Deliver exceptional service to internal and external clients, partners, and teammates.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field and comparable experience.
• Knowledge of EBS administration, cloning, cloud infrastructure installation, upgrades, and patching.
• Oracle Cloud certification.
• Familiarity with other automation tools.
• Knowledge of containerization tools.
• Experience integrating OCI with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Minimum 12 years of IT experience, with 2 years handling Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
