Senior Civil Inspector – Stormwater & Drainage (Dubai)

Job summary

AECOM is seeking a highly experienced Civil Inspector to oversee supervision and inspection of stormwater drainage projects in Dubai. You will monitor construction activities, ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards and DM requirements.

Responsibilities include inspecting pipelines, manholes and drainage structures, witnessing tests, and coordinating with contractors and surveyors to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• 7–10 years in construction supervision and inspection of drainage projects.
• Experience inspecting stormwater networks, pipelines, manholes and related works.
• Knowledge of pipeline installation, bedding, backfilling and reinstatement.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality standards and local rules.

Responsibilities

• Inspect sewerage and stormwater works per drawings, specs and DM requirements.
• Verify setting out, alignment, coordinates and invert levels.
• Inspect excavation, trenching, shoring, dewatering and formation levels.
• Check bedding, compaction and pipe foundation before installation.
• Inspect pipe installation, joints and fittings for quality.
• Verify pipe diameter, material and manufacturer details.
• Inspect manholes, chambers, and drainage structures.
• Review reinforcement, concrete grade and finishes.
• Verify invert levels, benching and channel details.
• Inspect connections to existing networks and CCTV tests.
• Witness CCTV, leakage, hydrostatic and air tests; report results.
• Monitor backfilling and compaction in layers; verify NCR closures.
• Coordinate with surveyors to confirm line and level data.
• Review IRs, test reports and method statements.
• Identify defects and report to Resident Engineer; track rectifications.
• Coordinate with utilities and other disciplines to avoid clashes.
• Ensure temporary works and bypass pumping are correctly implemented.
• Maintain daily reports, site records and test documentation.
• Support final inspections, snagging and handover activities.
