Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Civil Inspector to oversee site inspections of roads and infrastructure, interpret contract drawings, and enforce quality and safety standards.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, 7+ years in similar projects (3+ years in UAE preferred), and strong English communication. On-site work with full-time commitment and exposure to multidisciplinary teams in a global firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in roads and infrastructure projects.
• At least 3 years of UAE experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, quality control, and safety standards.
• Proficient in site measurement, surveying techniques, and related software tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Inspect civil works incl. roads, bridges, and infrastructure.
• Review contract docs, drawings, and specs for compliance.
• Supervise site activities; perform regular inspections.
• Monitor contractor activities for quality, safety, and specs.
• Prepare daily progress reports, materials, and inspection findings.
• Coordinate with managers, contractors and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Document site measurements and surveying checks for alignments and levels.
• Maintain and implement on-site quality control procedures.
• Assist in drafting correspondence related to contracts and site needs.
• Track startup, commissioning, and handover; log milestones.
• Conduct audits to ensure conformity with documents and plans.
• Stay updated on Abu Dhabi building codes and regulations.
