Job Title: Senior Civil Designer

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Contract Type: 6-month Contract

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Designer to contribute to the planning, design, and execution of infrastructure for oil & gas facilities. The successful candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in 3D modeling software such as PDMS, SP3D, and E3D, as well as proficiency in general CAD tools. The role demands strong coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to work proactively in a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Planning & Infrastructure Layouts

• Develop comprehensive site plans and infrastructure layouts tailored to the functional and spatial requirements of oil and gas facilities.

2. Civil Routing & Configuration Studies

• Perform routing studies for site infrastructure including roads, utilities, drainage systems, and establish configurations for foundations, support structures, and retaining systems.

3. 3D Civil Modeling

• Model infrastructure and civil structures using PDMS, SP3D, and E3D.
• Perform 3D visualizations of components using Civil 3D, Revit, or equivalent tools.

4. Drawing Production & Extraction

• Extract and produce civil-related drawings such as site layouts, construction details, and general arrangements directly from the 3D model.

5. Clash & Compliance Checks

• Conduct thorough clash checks and ensure designs comply with project and industry standards.

6. Design Modifications & MTOs

• Implement minor infrastructure design changes and route modifications as required.
• Perform accurate Material Take-Offs (MTOs) for procurement and estimation.

7. Coordination & Communication

• Collaborate closely with civil engineers, other discipline designers, and project teams to ensure coherent and aligned designs.
• Review and comment on vendor drawings for civil components.

8. Progress Reporting & Documentation

• Provide regular updates on design progress, challenges, and resolutions to Area Leads and Project Managers.

Requirements:

• Qualification: Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering
• Experience: Minimum 12 years in civil design for oil and gas onshore and offshore facilities, with at least 7 years in 3D design environments
• Tools & Software Proficiency:
  • 3D Design Tools: PDMS, SP3D, E3D (Mandatory - hands-on experience required, not just training)
  • CAD Tools: AutoCAD, MicroStation, SmartSketch
• Additional Tools: Civil 3D, Revit (preferred for infrastructure modeling)
