Job summary

A leading procurement services provider in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Buyer to manage USM procurement processes. The role involves supplier evaluations, purchasing transactions, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure compliance and efficiency. Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the aviation MRO sector, along with a relevant bachelor's degree. A CIPS certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:

To execute USM procurement transactions, supplier evaluations, and purchasing processes across assigned engine material categories. The Senior Buyer ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of USM materials in coordination with internal stakeholders and under the guidance of the Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Procurement and Sourcing

  • Execute end-to-end procurement of USM components including Rotables, LLPs, LRU, QEC, and Airfoils.
  • Develop RFQs, evaluate bids, issue POs, and coordinate delivery.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and market pricing.
  • Execute proactive sourcing and purchasing of USM to build or replenish inventory, based on strategic stockholding plans and market opportunities such as teardown packages, bulk buys, and framework deals—contributing to improved turnaround time, part availability, and cost efficiency.

Strategic and Commercial Management

  • Support contract negotiation and execution.
  • Monitor supplier performance and recommend sourcing adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with traceability and regulatory requirements.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Legal, and Finance.
  • Align procurement actions with asset modeling and inventory management.
  • Liaise with Product Line and Sales teams to support availability.

Analytics and Reporting

  • Maintain dashboards and procurement reports.
  • Ensure Oracle transactions are accurate and audit-ready.
  • Track cost savings, cycle times, and KPIs.

Process Improvement and Compliance

  • Identify process gaps and support improvement initiatives.
  • Comply with procurement policies, ethics, and regulatory standards.

9. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES Minimum Qualifications:

(Education/Certification/Licensure/Professional Membership)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • CIPS or equivalent certification preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of procurement experience and/or supply chain management preferably from aviation MRO industry
  • Familiarity with USM sourcing, teardown markets and supplier evaluation.

Job Specific Competencies:

  1. Sourcing Execution: Demonstrates expertise in identifying and sourcing used serviceable materials through teardown channels, brokers, and approved vendors based on demand signals.
  2. Purchasing Operations: Executes purchasing tasks such as RFQ generation, price benchmarking, PO processing, delivery coordination, and invoice resolution with accuracy and timeliness.
  3. Supplier Evaluation and Performance Tracking: Assesses supplier reliability, quality, and service level performance, initiating corrective actions when required.
  4. Negotiation Skills: Applies commercial negotiation techniques to obtain optimal terms and pricing from vendors, while maintaining long-term relationships.
  5. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Ensures proper collection and validation of Form 1s, trace documents, and part history in accordance with aviation standards.
  6. ERP Proficiency: Operates effectively within Oracle or similar procurement systems for processing orders, maintaining vendor master data, and generating reports.
  7. Cost Awareness and Optimization: Supports cost-reduction initiatives through price analysis, teardown comparisons, and efficient purchasing strategies.
  8. Cross-functional Coordination: Works closely with internal teams to ensure materials meet technical specs, budget constraints, and turnaround time objectives.
