Job Description

The Senior BIM Engineer will provide technical leadership for Building Information Modelling throughout construction supervision. Working closely with the Resident Engineer, design consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary site teams, the position will ensure BIM models and digital deliverables remain coordinated and aligned with project standards and client requirements. The role covers federated model management across architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist disciplines, with particular attention to model quality, information exchange, interface management, clash detection, construction support, and preparation of asset and as-built information for handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead BIM implementation and management throughout the construction supervision phase in accordance with project BIM standards and client requirements.


• Manage, review, and coordinate federated BIM models covering architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist disciplines.


• Review contractor BIM execution plans, model submissions, and digital deliverables for compliance with project requirements and applicable industry standards.


• Facilitate multidisciplinary model coordination meetings and identify clashes and interface issues before related construction activities proceed.


• Coordinate the resolution of identified clashes with design consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and relevant engineering disciplines.


• Support construction teams with coordinated model views, digital construction sequences, quantity information, and visualisations where required.


• Monitor BIM model quality and accuracy, including compliance with project naming conventions, level of development, and information requirements.


• Coordinate the timely exchange of accurate digital project information between architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.


• Assist the Resident Engineer with construction progress monitoring using digital tools and BIM-enabled reporting where applicable.


• Oversee the development and maintenance of asset information and as-built models in preparation for project handover.


• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to BIM Engineers, BIM Coordinators, and BIM Technicians.


• Prepare BIM progress reports, coordination logs, clash detection reports, and digital delivery metrics for project stakeholders.

BIM and Digital Delivery Focus

The position connects multidisciplinary design information with construction-stage requirements. Effective management of federated models and digital workflows will be essential to identifying coordination issues early and providing site teams with reliable information for construction activities. Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.


• Minimum 10-15 years of professional experience.


• At least 5 years of experience managing BIM on major construction supervision projects.


• BIM-related professional certifications are highly desirable.


• Demonstrated capability in multidisciplinary BIM model coordination and construction-stage digital delivery.


• Experience managing BIM information across architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist disciplines.


• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring to BIM personnel.
