Job summary

Confidential is seeking a senior BIM Standards & Compliance lead to implement BIM Manual, templates, naming conventions, and LOD/LOI, with BEPs aligned to ISO 19650 across multi-disciplinary projects.

You will set up and maintain the CDE, supervise model coordination, and drive nonconformances to closure, while mentoring BIM coordinators and expanding automation through Dynamo and Python.

Responsibilities

• Validate drawing sheets, schedules, and quantities extracted from models for accuracy and consistency.

Job description

BIM Standards & Compliance

• Implement and enforce the company BIM Manual, Revit templates, naming conventions, and modelling standards (LOD/LOI) across all disciplines on assigned projects.
• Ensure project BIM Execution Plans (BEP) are developed, maintained, and followed in line with ISO 19650-1/-2.
• Set up and maintain the Common Data Environment (CDE) — folder structures, permissions, and workflows (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud / ACC).
• Monitor compliance of internal teams and sub-consultants against agreed standards; report nonconformances and drive corrective action.

Model Coordination & Quality Control

• Lead federated model coordination across Architecture, Structure, MEP, and Infrastructure; run and chair clash detection sessions (Navisworks / BIM Collaborate).
• Perform model audits and QA/QC checks (model health, parameters, shared coordinates, worksets) prior to issue.
• Track and close out clashes, RFIs, and coordination issues through to resolution.
• Validate drawing sheets, schedules, and quantities extracted from models for accuracy and consistency.

Automation & Digital Workflow Development

• Develop and maintain Dynamo graphs to automate repetitive modelling, QA/QC checks, parameter population, sheet/schedule creation, and data validation tasks.
• Write and maintain Python scripts (within Dynamo, pyRevit, or standalone) to extend automation beyond native Dynamo nodes — batch processing, data export/import, model auditing, and reporting.
• Identify manual, repetitive workflows across the team and propose/build automation solutions to improve speed and consistency.
• Maintain a shared library of reusable Dynamo scripts and Python tools for the wider BIM team; document usage and train coordinators on their application.
• Collaborate with the Digital Delivery team on the firm's internal toolkit (e.g., Revit add-ins, content catalog, effort estimators) and contribute automation requirements/testing.
• Stay current with emerging automation and AI-assisted workflows relevant to BIM production (e.g., generative design, AI-assisted QA, scripting with the Revit API/C#) and recommend adoption where it adds value.

Data & Information Management

• Manage shared parameters, project parameters, and data schemas to support COBie/asset data and client information requirements (EIR/AIR).
• Coordinate data drops and information exchanges at project milestones in line with the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) / Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP).
• Extract and validate model-derived data (quantities, schedules, room/space data) for cost, sustainability, or FM handover purposes.

Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting

• Act as the primary BIM point of contact for project managers, design leads, and appointed parties on coordination and information management matters.
• Chair/support BIM coordination meetings; issue minutes, coordination reports, and clash/issue trackers.
• Report BIM production status, risks, and automation gains to the Digital Delivery / BIM leadership.
• Liaise with clients and consultants on model exchange formats, federation strategy, and delivery expectations.

Software & Technology Management

• Administer project-level configuration of Revit, Navisworks, and CDE platforms (ACC/BIM 360); manage worksharing, cloud models, and permissions.
• Troubleshoot model performance, file corruption, and interoperability issues (IFC, COBie, Navisworks exports).
• Evaluate and pilot new BIM/automation tools and plug-ins, feeding recommendations into the firm's digital delivery roadmap.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Typically 6–10+ years of BIM/CAD experience, including demonstrated experience leading model coordination on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Proven track record implementing ISO 19650 or equivalent BIM standards on live projects.
• Hands-on experience building Dynamo graphs and Python scripts for production automation (not just running pre-built scripts).
• Experience mentoring or leading a small team of BIM coordinators/modelers.
