Job summary

Speechify is seeking a backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including TTS and internal systems, based in Abu Dhabi.

You will own API landscape, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and deploy on cloud platforms with GCP, AWS/Azure knowledge, and containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.

This role requires proven TS/Node backend experience and a pragmatic approach to scalable, high-availability services.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in backend development with TS/Node.
• Direct experience with GCP.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Efficiency in ideation and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API and internal APIs for Payment, Subscription, Auth, and Consumption Tracking
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience
