Job summary

AIQ, an Abu Dhabi-based technology company, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own API development. You'll work on scalable RESTful services using Node.js or Python, with Express.js or FastAPI, in a cutting-edge AI-enabled platform for the energy sector.

You will design robust databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB), deploy on Azure/AWS, and orchestrate with Docker and Kubernetes. Mentoring colleagues and guiding architectural decisions are essential to drive impact across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in CS, software eng, or related field.
• 5+ years in backend software engineering focused on API services.
• Mastery of Node.js or Python programming with Express.js or FastAPI.
• RESTful API design and robust backend architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB.
• Cloud experience (Azure or AWS) and Docker/Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipelines and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of scalable RESTful APIs.
