Job summary

Sharkhood Tech in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer with deep Node.js expertise to join our platform engineering team. You will own design and implementation of scalable backend systems, manage large datasets, and build high-performance REST APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS/ExpressJS, and MongoDB.

Expect to optimize architecture, integrate external data sources, and collaborate across Product, Web, Data, and AI teams while driving production

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Backend Software Engineering experience.
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript expertise; NestJS/ExpressJS experience.
• Experience with MongoDB/Mongoose and large datasets.
• Proven experience with Redis, background jobs, and message queues.
• Familiarity with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of scalable backend architecture and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Develop reliable and high-performance REST APIs.
• Work with large datasets and complex data structures.
• Design, optimize, and maintain MongoDB databases.
• Build data processing, transformation, matching, and normalization workflows.
• Integrate multiple third-party APIs and external data sources.
• Identify and resolve duplicates and data quality issues.
• Improve API, database, and application performance.
• Build background jobs, queues, caching, and asynchronous processing systems.
• Integrate AI/LLM services into backend applications.
• Troubleshoot production and data-related issues.
• Participate in system architecture and technical decision-making.
• Review code and maintain high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Mobile, Web, Data, and AI teams.
