We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, reporting to the Line Manager, Instrumentation and Automation, and the Project Manager.

The Senior Automation Engineer will handle engineering design review and analysis for major or multiple smaller projects, requiring proficient application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting process industry-based project design work for smooth execution.
• Assisting engineers and managers in engineering design.
• Verifying source data and concept drawings.
• Preparing and finalizing the Engineering Document Deliverable Register (EDDR).
• Familiarity with systems such as ICSS, DCS, ESD, F&G, BMS, Package Control Systems, RTU, PLC, third-party interfaces, and security systems.
• Preparing and reviewing automation-related design deliverables, including I&C Design Criteria, Control System Configuration, System Architecture, and others.
• Reviewing OEM vendor deliverables and coordinating with clients.
• Ensuring design outputs meet specifications and standards.
• Collaborating with the Instrument team for control system inputs.
• Knowledge of control systems from ABB, Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa, Siemens.
• Participating in HAZOP, SIL studies, and alarm management.
• Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and safety standards.
• Resolving technical issues with clients and coordinating procurement inputs.
• Participating in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and preparing as-built documentation.

Qualifications:

• Engineering degree (BSc. or MSc.)
• At least 12 years of relevant experience in Instrumentation and Automation in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical industries.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior role.
• Telecommunication knowledge is advantageous.
• Experience with FEED and EPC projects, especially with ADNOC or reputed engineering consultants.
• Excellent communication skills, team-oriented, problem solver, proactive attitude.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
