Job summary

Grant Thornton - UAE in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Associate to lead audit engagements from planning to completion, review financial statements, and deliver technical accounting services while supervising junior colleagues.

You will collaborate with senior staff on client engagements, identify audit risks, apply IPSAS, and use AI, analytics, and data visualizations to drive insights. Travel may be required.

As a Senior Associate, you'll dive into planning, directing, completing audits, reviewing financial statements and related technical accounting services while supervising junior colleagues. As well as collaborating closely with senior colleagues on client engagements to drive success.

As a Senior Associate some of your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of client engagements from planning to completion


• Preparing or reviewing work papers and drafts of the financial statements


• Producing client deliverables, specifically drafting reports for management review


• Taking a role in audit planning discussions to identify audit risks and devise an appropriate audit strategy


• Supervising, training, and mentoring associates and interns on audit process


• Utilizing artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and data visualizations


• Proactively engaging with clients while offering strategic recommendations for improvement


• Staying acquainted to industry trends through regular professional development activities


• Have experience of working on complex audits and delegating workloads accordingly


• Comfortable using audit software and Microsoft Office


• Strong technical accounting skills, practical experience of IPSAS (mandatory)


• Experience with group audits is key to success


• Ability to supervise staff and lead projects


• Willingness to work additional hours and travel as needed
