Job summary

Serco's Palm Jumeirah Transit System seeks a Senior Asset Maintenance Technician to support the Asset Engineer in delivering maintenance per Serco standards. The role is based at Palm Jumeirah Monorail, Dubai, with multi-tasking, strong organization and communication essential.

You will perform corrective and preventive maintenance using electrical and mechanical tools, diagnose faults, and hand over repairs to the workshop.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a qualified mechanical, electrical, electronics or building service technician.
• Trade certificate or diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical facilities, including safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance with complex tools, referencing drawings and procedures.
• Carry out training and assessments for AMT and ARO.
• Deputy to the Asset Engineer.
• Diagnose electrical or mechanical faults and hand over repairs for workshop repair.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Asset Maintenance Technician who will assist the Asset Engineer in the performing all levels of maintenance to achieve the maintenance objectives as stipulated under the maintenance standards of Serco Palm Jumeirah Transit System.

The ideal candidate should have the ability to multi-task and manage various tasks, and good communication. Excellent organisation, time management and prioritizing skills.

This role is part of the technical team and will be based in Palm Jumeira Monorail, Dubai.

Key Accountabilities

• Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance work with the use of complex handmachine, electrical and electronic tools and reference to technical drawings,schematics, manuals, procedures and work instructions
• Carry out training and assessments for AMT and ARO
• Deputy to the Asset Engineer
• Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operationalequipment, replace faulty equipment and handover/taken back to the electromechanical workshop for repair.

Specific Requirements

• Minimum of 5-years work experience as a qualified Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or building service technician in maintaining and repairing Mechanical & Electrical facilities covering platform screen doors system, lighting system, environmental control systems, Automatic Train Control, Rolling Stock, generators, communications systems, LV power control system and emergency power supply system
• Vocational trade certificate or diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering disciplineor equivalent
• Working knowledge in maintaining and repairing motors and pumps, relays, I/O modules, control units, wirings, bearings, drive belts, coils, gearboxes, damper, values, impellers, motor controls, air handling units, chilled water system, fire alarm panels, fire pumps, UPS, batteries and diesel engines, etc. would be a definite advantage;
• Knowledge and experience in operating and in interfacing infrastructure management system is essential.
