Job summary

U+A is seeking an experienced senior architect to oversee architectural works in Dubai, ensuring conformance with contract documents and quality standards. The role requires coordinating with multiple disciplines and supervising inspectors through design to handover.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in the Middle East, with 6–8 years in UAE-based international consultancy, and strong envelope detail knowledge. Proficiency in MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the Middle East, including 6–8 years in a UAE or UAE-based international consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of exterior envelope details and material interfaces.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to review and provide feedback on technical documentation effectively.
  • Strong understanding of project specifications and authority requirements.
  • Complete project understanding in the architectural discipline, from inception to handover.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee architectural works and ensure conformance with contract documents and procedures manual.
  • Review and process architectural submittals.
  • Address RFIs related to architectural aspects.
  • Coordinate and supervise all architectural activities and operations.
  • Review contractor’s architectural change order proposals and provide PM recommendations.
  • Lead the coordination process with other disciplines.
  • Liaise and coordinate with necessary sub-consultants.
  • Review contractor claims related to architectural works and prepare recommendations for claims to the PM.
  • Review contractor’s project record documents relevant to architectural works.
  • Manage architectural inspectors to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Assist in the inspection of completed works and monitor start‑up, testing, commissioning, and handover of architectural works.
  • Sign off on completed architectural works, ensuring all documentation is complete.
  • Prepare weekly planning reports and progress reports.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the PM.
