Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
- Develop and coordinate detailed technical documentation for swimming pools, water features, and spa or wellness systems, aligned with local codes and international standards.
- Prepare engineering specifications, schedules, and technical reports for mechanical and electrical aquatic systems, focusing on filtration, hydraulics, and MEP integration.
- Support the modelling, markups, and QA/QC review of Revit outputs, in collaboration with BIM leads.
- Lead the development of technical inputs for operational manuals and tender documents.
Project Coordination and Client Support
- Act as the technical liaison between the aquatic design team and external stakeholders, including architects, project managers, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring coordinated inputs and delivery alignment.
- Represent the aquatic team in client-facing coordination meetings and resolve RFIs and design queries.
- Review third-party drawings and submittals for compliance with aquatic requirements and provide clear technical feedback.
Client Interface & Issue Resolution
- Represent WSP as the lead technical authority in client-facing meetings, RFIs, and design coordination calls.
- Address and resolve technical issues promptly through proactive decision-making and clear internal/external communication.
Design Management and Value Engineering
- Review concept and schematic designs to identify engineering risks and propose technical refinements.
- Conduct space planning, plant room layout coordination, and MEP clash resolution.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering, material optimization, and system efficiencies.
QA/QC, Continuous Improvement & Best Practices
- Contribute to the development of internal standards, QA/QC protocols, and knowledge-sharing systems.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior team members and offshore support teams as needed.
- Participate in lessons-learned and root cause analysis exercises to support continuous technical improvement.
- Collaborate with BIM and document control teams to ensure models and submissions are formatted, coordinated, and compliant with BEP requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential is a strong asset.
- 10 to 12 years of experience in aquatic, wellness, or spa design, including swimming pools, thermal experiences, and water features, with a focus on technical delivery.
- Experience delivering projects from concept through to IFC stage.
- Strong command of MEP design for aquatic systems and wellness cabins such as steam, sauna, hammam, and experience showers.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project. Working knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows, with a willingness to upskill, is essential.
- Excellent stakeholder coordination, technical documentation, and report-writing skills.
- Prior experience in international consultancy or multidisciplinary design teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and resolve site or design conflicts.
- Fluency in English, written and spoken. Additional languages are a plus.
