Senior Android Engineer

QuantumGate is a startup within VentureOne, supported by the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) and its research arm, the Technology Innovation Institute (TII). We specialize in developing and commercializing advanced post-quantum cryptographic solutions, with a mission to secure enterprise digital environments through cutting-edge protocols and applications that tackle the challenges of the post-quantum era.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android-based applications and systems using AOSP.
• Customize and optimize the Android OS for specific hardware platforms.
• Develop and maintain build systems for Android projects, ensuring efficient and reliable builds.
• Implement and manage virtualization solutions using Cuttlefish to create virtual Android devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Android development, build processes, and virtualization.
• Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks for Android applications.
• Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of Android-based systems.
• Provide technical guidance and support to development teams on best practices for Android development, build processes, and virtualization.
• Document development processes, best practices, and technical specifications to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with AOSP and Android development.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture, frameworks, and build systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, and C/C++.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, particularly Cuttlefish.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Certified Android Developer) are a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with embedded systems and hardware integration.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools.
• Knowledge of security best practices for Android development.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
