Job summary

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank is seeking a Senior Analyst - AML Investigations in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on reviewing alerts, conducting in-depth investigations, and submitting regulatory reports.

You will collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Bank partners to detect and mitigate financial crime risks. The ideal candidate has CAMS or equivalent, 4+ years in AML/Financial Crime, and strong knowledge of KYC, sanctions, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of AML/Financial Crime Investigations experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; CAMS or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of AML typologies, regulatory AML requirements, and KYC processes.
  • Proficient in preparing STRs and regulatory submissions.

Responsibilities

  • Review alerts from transaction monitoring to identify suspicious activities.
  • Investigate escalated cases, gather data, interview stakeholders, document findings.
  • Evaluate AML risks and suggest control enhancements.
  • Analyze customer behaviour and transaction patterns for emerging risks.
  • Prepare STRs for CBUAE and respond to RFIs from international banks.

About the business area, Group Compliance & Governance:

Compliance is an independent function at ADCB which takes an active approach to risk management and monitoring, ensuring the Bank complies with applicable laws, regulations, rules and market standards. The Group creates, implements and monitors policies and procedures designed to prevent or detect financial crime and any compliance breaches of the Bank, its employees and clients. It also monitors and measures the impact of conduct risk and compliance on the Bank’s risk appetite and profile.

In this role, your key responsibilities include
  • Review and analyse alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems to identify potentially suspicious activities and elevate cases for further investigation.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of escalated cases by gathering relevant data, interviewing stakeholders, and documenting findings to support decision-making and regulatory reporting.
  • Evaluate AML risks and recommend control enhancements to mitigate potential threats
  • Analyse customer behaviours and transaction patterns to detect emerging risks
  • Prepare and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the relevant authorities (CBUAE) assist with addressing queries from corresponding Banks relating to money laundering and sanctions matters, carry out freezing of funds and blocking of accounts, respond to and raise Requests for Information (RFIs) from other Banks on anti-money laundering and sanctions in accordance with regulatory timelines and internal procedures to avoid penalties.
  • Determine exit strategy for flagged customers and report to CBUAE and update MIS to ensure effective closure of accounts, mitigate anti money laundering, KYC and sanctions risks in the organization.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of investigations, decisions, and communications to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
The ideal candidate should have the following experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in AML/Financial Crime Investigations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of customer transactions, behaviours and known AML typologies.
  • Understanding of local/international and Central Bank rules and regulatory AML requirements.
  • Understanding of account opening and customer documentation.
  • Understanding of Banking systems, reports and workflows.
  • Project management.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
