Job summary

Theblockchainassociation is seeking an experienced MLRO/ Deputy MLRO to oversee the AML/CTF/PF framework across its UAE operations in Dubai. You will maintain relationships with UAE regulators and provide strategic guidance to the Board on financial crime risks.

The ideal candidate has strong UAE regulatory expertise and a background in the cryptocurrency or digital-assets industry, with proven compliance leadership across payments services and crypto assets.

Qualifications

• Strong UAE regulatory expertise and experience in financial services.
• Background in digital assets or cryptocurrency preferred.
• Ability to distill regulatory guidance into actionable actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across cultures and levels.

Responsibilities

• Act as MLRO/ Deputy MLRO for UAE operations.
• Develop and maintain compliance culture within the company in UAE.
• Ensure policies & controls meet AML/CTF/PF requirements in UAE.
• Provide regulatory updates to the Board on AML programs in UAE.
• Monitor regulatory developments with regulators like UAE authorities.
• Oversee internal financial crime compliance for payments and crypto.
• Lead AML/CTF/PF training for employees and leadership.
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Finance, IT, and external counsel.
• Report suspicious activities to FIU and respond to inquiries in UAE.
• Conduct regular reviews to ensure UAE regulatory compliance.
• Prepare action plans to remedy compliance gaps in UAE market.
