Job description
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior AIX & Linux System Specialist to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in managing AIX , Linux (Red Hat/Ubuntu/CentOS) , and OpenShift environments with a strong foundation in system administration, automation, and performance tuning.
Responsibilities AIX (IBM's UNIX Operating System) AIX System Administration: Installation, configuration, patching, and upgrading AIX systems. LVM (Logical Volume Management): Volume management, creating logical volumes, file systems, and managing storage. Networking: Configuring network interfaces, TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and troubleshooting network connectivity. Security: User authentication, LDAP, Kerberos, and implementing security best practices. Performance Tuning: CPU, memory, disk, and network performance tuning and analysis. Automation and Scripting: Using shell scripting (Bash, Korn Shell) to automate tasks. Backup & Recovery: Implementing backup solutions and disaster recovery planning. System Monitoring and Diagnostics: Using tools like NMON, topas, vmstat for performance monitoring. Linux System Administration Managing Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc., through command-line tools and graphical utilities. Package Management: RPM, DNF, YUM for installing and maintaining packages. File System Management: Ext4, XFS, ZFS; disk partitioning, mounting, and file system permissions. Networking: Configuring IP addresses, routing, VPNs, firewall settings, and troubleshooting using tools like netstat, iptables, and tcpdump. Security: Implementing SELinux, firewall (firewalld), and auditd; SSH configuration, sudo policies. Virtualization: Proficiency with tools like KVM, Xen, and Docker containers. Automation: Bash scripting, Ansible, and automation frameworks for continuous integration and deployment. System Monitoring: Using tools like Nagios, Prometheus, and Grafana for monitoring and alerting. Latest Red Hat Certified System Administration (RHCSA/RHCE): Certification and deep knowledge in managing Red Hat-based distributions. Red Hat Satellite: Managing systems with Red Hat Satellite for centralized management. SELinux Configuration: Enforcing security policies using SELinux in Red Hat environments. Configuration Management: Using Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for system automation and configuration management. High Availability: Configuring clustering solutions such as Red Hat Cluster Suite and Pacemaker. Redhat OpenShift Design, deploy, and manage Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform clusters. Configure and optimize OpenShift networking, storage, and security. Implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for OpenShift. Develop, maintain, and optimize Ansible playbooks and roles for infrastructure automation. Automate provisioning, configuration, and management of servers, networks, and applications.
