Job summary

EDGE Group PJSC in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Engineer - Mass & Balance to lead aircraft mass properties activities across the development lifecycle. You will support mass estimation, weight control, centre of gravity, inertia calculations, and mass-property verification while collaborating with multidisciplinary aerospace teams.

The role requires a strong background in aerospace mass properties, experience with CAD/BOM data, and proficiency in engineering tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Structural, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Typically 10+ years of relevant aerospace engineering experience.
• Strong experience in aircraft mass properties / mass & balance.
• Experience with weight statements, mass breakdowns, centre of gravity and inertia calculations.
• Experience in mass control, mass growth, allocations and margins.
• Experience working with CAD, BOM, supplier and manufacturing data.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets and engineering analysis tools.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain aircraft mass breakdown structures and weight statements.
• Perform mass, centre of gravity, inertia and loading calculations.
• Establish mass targets, allocations, margins and growth allowances.
• Monitor and manage aircraft mass growth and configuration changes.
• Assess the impact of fuel, payload, stores, consumables and equipment changes.
• Support aircraft weighing and mass-property verification activities.
• Reconcile CAD, supplier, manufacturing and measured mass data.
• Support design trade studies and engineering change assessments.
• Prepare mass-property reports and technical evidence for programme reviews.
• Collaborate with Design, Aerodynamics, Performance, Structures, Flight Controls, Systems, Manufacturing and Flight Test teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving mass-property tools and processes.
