Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform trial balance (TB) reviews, ensuring all action items are tracked and resolved promptly.
  • Ensure GL schedules are 100% accurate and audit ready.
  • Conduct entity-wise balance sheet ratio reviews, including detailed variance analysis.
  • Perform entity-wise P&L reviews with comprehensive variance analysis and insights.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams for timely period and month-end closing activities.
  • Conduct pre-closing balance sheet reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Founded in 2009, and acquired by NOMAC in 2018, NOMAC Maintenance Energy Services (NMES) is the leading regional non-OEM service provider.

NMES supports its end-users by providing OEM level quality services and exceptional value creation through highly skilled and trained personnel, with capabilities to cover the maintenance and servicing of a wide range of turbines and generators, irrespective of the OEM, and supporting our customers in the following key areas:

  • Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and Generator inspections/overhauls, parts supply and engineering services
  • GT / ST and Generator corrective maintenance and repairs on a standby basis
  • Generator robotic inspections, rotor and stator rewinds
  • Auxiliaries Inspections/overhauls and parts supply
  • Turnkey GT/GTG/ST/STG/ Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), Long-Term Maintenance Agreements (LTMAs), Long-Term Manpower Supply (LTMSAs) and Long-Term Part-Supply Agreements (LTPSAs)
  • On-Site Intervention Services (OSIS) – Spark Erosion; in-situ valve repairs; on-site machining (CNC and Rotor Lathe); low speed balancing; Trevi-Testing
  • On site Surface Preparation – ice blasting, coating and curing of Compressor parts (blades/vanes) with Aluminum Chromate coatings
  • In-house Re-Engineering and Design team.

Key to our success is our response time, and our ability to conduct over 95% of all our work at the Customer site. At NMES, we bring all our tools, equipment and machines to the site, minimizing the need to ship anything off-site – this includes turbine rotors and generator rotors. By doing this, we can dramatically cut the outage duration and bring the unit back online far earlier than any OEM, restarting the Customer revenue stream, and reducing the need for insurance support. In short, we have the mindset of an Operator.

Job Scope

This role is critical to ensuring the integrity of financial statements through robust general ledger control, detailed variance analysis, and proactive audit preparedness. It focuses on identifying and resolving discrepancies ahead of audits, while maintaining audit-ready documentation and supporting financial governance. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of core accounting processes and contribute directly to the transparent reporting success.

Reporting Line

The Senior Accounting / GL Controller reports to the Head of Finance, NMES.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Perform trial balance (TB) reviews, ensuring all action items are tracked and resolved promptly.
  • Ensure GL schedules are 100% accurate and audit ready.
  • Conduct entity-wise balance sheet ratio reviews, including detailed variance analysis.
  • Perform entity-wise P&L reviews with comprehensive variance analysis and insights.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams for a timely period and month-end closing activities.
  • Conduct pre-closing balance sheet reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage inventory GL control, including coordination of periodic physical verification.
  • Reconcile and monitor clearing accounts, including:
  • OCB (Open Contract Balances)
  • GRIR (Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt)
  • Freight Clearing
  • Vendor Advances
  • Employee & Customer Advances
  • Track and analyze deferred revenue movement by project and by entity.
  • Participate in accounting policy assessments, including the creation of white papers for revenue recognition methodologies.
  • Conduct historical assessments on revenue recognition per project.
  • Support internal consolidation processes within NMES by tracking inter-company transactions.
  • Ensure GL Controllership, including the allocation of outsourced manpower costs to the correct project WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) to eliminate unallocated GL balances.
  • Review of G/L Account of Advances to Employees for Business Expenses on month end & year-end closing.
  • Organize and prepare monthly accruals schedule in line with appropriate cost and profit center; Upload when reviewed and verified (Prepaid Insurance, Amortization, Other Prepaid Expenses etc.)
  • Review of provisions taken
  • Reviewing withholding tax account

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degrees in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or GL control.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, revenue recognition standards, and audit processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other financial analysis tools.
