Job summary

Job description

  • Checks and validates that the entries in the local accounting system are in line with the applicable reporting requirements.
  • Performs month-end and year-end closing operations in accordance with statutory reporting requirements and regional/global policies.
  • Manages accruals, repayments, and depreciation schedules.
  • Reconciles between the local statutory accounting system and the reporting system.
  • Reviews the annual statutory financial statements and half-yearly accounting reports.
  • Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns for VAT and corporate tax as applicable.
  • Identifies potential accounting and tax compliance issues promptly and communicates these to the manager.
  • Performs and maintains periodic balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensures compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Provides documentation and support during internal and external audits.
  • Manages and reconciles transactions between the company and its related entities.
  • Assists with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Supports Oracle implementation by collecting and updating AR, AP, GL, and Fixed Assets journals.
  • Manages external and internal supplier payments, reconciles accounts, and produces statements of accounts.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of financial records by reconciling bank statements, sub-ledgers, and other accounts.
  • Assists in developing budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights based on historical and current data.
  • Inputs financial data such as Balance Sheet and P&L into the Tagetik reporting system.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Accounting qualifications are a plus.

5-7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the engineering consultancy industry.

Proficiency in accounting software; familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Oracle) is a plus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and propose solutions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Understanding of IFRS or GAAP.
