Senior Accountant - Tax and Expenditure (UAE National)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (Management) or related field
  • Strong understanding of tax laws, international tax principles, and accounting standards
  • Professional Accountancy Certification such as CA, CTA, CPA, CMA is a plus

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tax, general ledger, or accounting operations, preferably within the telecoms industry or a multinational organization
  • Experience working in a Big 4 auditing firm is a plus
  • Experience with Oracle ERP (EBS or Fusion) is preferable

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions, including preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns and filings (VAT, WHT, sales tax)
  2. Manage tax provision processes and ensure accurate reporting in financial statements
  3. Support external tax audits and liaise with tax authorities
  4. Analyze changes in tax legislation and assess impacts
  5. Assist in transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transaction reviews
  6. Collaborate with legal, treasury, and operations teams on business transactions for tax efficiency
  7. Support tax planning initiatives and identify tax savings opportunities
  8. Ensure effective internal controls over tax processes
  9. Handle accounting for operating costs, including accruals, estimates, and month-end closing
  10. Manage vendor relationships, resolve issues, and process invoices for Opex and Capex
  11. Develop controls for ledger completeness and perform reconciliations
  12. Provide schedules and supporting documents for financial reporting
  13. Perform other tasks as assigned by the line manager
