Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations for the school, including entries, reconciliations, payments, receipts, and financial records.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts in line with accounting standards and internal school policies.
- Prepare financial reports, statements, summaries, and management information for review by school leadership.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, expense tracking, and financial planning activities.
- Monitor school income, expenses, payables, receivables, and cash flow to support smooth financial operations.
- Handle bank reconciliations, ledger reviews, supplier payments, and account balance verification.
- Support fee collection records, outstanding payment tracking, and related finance coordination when required.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, reporting requirements, and applicable UAE financial regulations.
- Assist with audits, documentation, financial schedules, and supporting records.
- Review financial data for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.
- Coordinate with internal departments to verify invoices, approvals, purchase records, and expense claims.
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents, vouchers, receipts, invoices, statements, and reports.
- Identify discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and recommend improvements to financial processes.
- Provide accurate financial insights to support the school management team in decision-making.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional standards when handling financial and school-related information.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce or a related field is mandatory.
- Professional certification such as CMA or ACCA will be an advantage.
- Prior experience in a similar accounting role within the UAE is highly preferred.
- Experience in a school, education group, or service-based organization is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
- Ability to prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and accounting records.
- Good understanding of UAE accounting practices and compliance expectations.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
