Job summary

Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Pvt. Ltd. in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Accountant - Payroll & Expense to manage payroll processing, employee expense accounting, and month-end reconciliations for a semi-government client.

You will ensure IFRS-compliant payroll accounting, oversee DoA-based expense approvals, and support ERP automation in payroll and expense modules using SAP or Oracle. Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required; professional certification preferred; UAE labour law experience

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll processing experience under UAE labour law.
• IFRS-compliant payroll accounting experience.
• Experience with employee expense accounting and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle) for payroll and expense modules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process monthly payroll transactions in coordination with HR.
• Validate payroll inputs such as attendance, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
• Record and reconcile payroll expenses in ERP/business systems.
• Prepare payroll-related accounting entries, accruals, and adjustments during month-end and year-end closings.
• Process and record employee expense claims, travel advances, and settlements in compliance with DoA.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of payroll control accounts and expense ledgers.
• Support ERP enhancement and automation initiatives within payroll and expense accounting modules.

A suitable candidate is someone who is a finance professional who can ensure IFRS-compliant payroll accounting, manage employee expense claims and reconciliations, and support ERP automation initiatives within payroll and expense modules.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and process monthly payroll transactions in coordination with HR.
• Validate payroll inputs such as attendance, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
• Record and reconcile payroll expenses in ERP/business systems.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline; master's degree preferred.
• Professional certification preferred (CFA, CMA, ACCA, CPA).
• Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing and accounting under UAE labour law.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, WPS regulations, and financial governance.
• Proficiency in ERP/business systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for payroll and expense accounting modules.
