Overview of the role:

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in upholding Al Futtaim Malls’ accounting policies and ensuring all financial reporting aligns with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The role supports the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of financial operations and forecasting. It also includes providing technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, assisting in the implementation of new accounting standards, and ensuring full compliance with group policies and regulatory requirements.

To manage and control various financial and accounting systems and procedures of the company in accordance with the internationally accepted standard and monitor its internal control to ensure financial stability and maintain complete transparency and accuracy in the system.

What you will do:

Internal Stakeholder Support

  • Provide timely and effective financial support to internal stakeholders including Regional Mall Management, Mall Owners, Retail Business Teams, HR, Marketing and Facilities Management.
  • Support includes business reviews, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, tailored to meet business requirements through clear and proactive communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for complete accounting cycle for Arabian Center Mall. (Revenue, Expense, Closing, Reporting, Audit & CIT).
  • Ensure leasing contracts are activated after verification and execute contract-related posting runs accurately and on time.
  • Review and verify LPOs, accurately code and post approved expenses into relevant GL accounts and cost centers, ensuring compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA) for both Opex and Capex.
  • Ensure Balance sheet reconciliation is conducted on a quarterly basis and items required further analysis to be highlighted and device plans to reconcile.

Planning & Forecasting

  • Lead the preparation and review of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and related KPI tracking.
  • Coordinate with the consolidation team to deliver timely and accurate cash flow inputs for both weekly and monthly forecasts.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Build and maintain dynamic Excel-based models and automation tools to support effective and insightful management reporting.
  • Building presentation for all management reporting’s within the stipulated timelines
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to enhance visibility into financial performance and support decision-making based on evolving business needs.

Compliance & Audit

  • Assist Finance Manager in preparing and coordinating with the respective business to complete the budget and forecast exercise on quarterly and annual basis.
  • Manage and coordinate internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely submission of required information.
  • Oversee accurate and timely filing of corporate income tax, VAT returns, and other statutory obligations.
  • Support transfer pricing compliance by preparing relevant documentation and working closely with group tax and external advisors.

Required skills to be successful:

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • CA/ACCA/Post-graduate degree or any other equivalent qualification in commerce / accounting / finance with knowledge of Financial Management and Accounting Systems is necessary.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP Financial Software is necessary; SAP/Yardi expertise will be preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience working in diverse teams; real estate construction / projects environment experience will be preferred.
