Job summary

Alcazar Energy is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting activities within a multi-currency group structure. You will ensure policy compliance, assist with close processes, and support continuous improvement of accounting controls and reporting.

You will handle VAT/CIT tax compliance, liaise with auditors, and contribute to accurate financial statements while maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and professional qualification or in-progress as CA/CPA/ACCA.
• 3+ years external/audit experience with corporate/general ledger work.
• Experience in multi-currency and SPV/group structures is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares asset, liability, and capital entries by analyzing account information.
• Documents transactions by entering entries in ERP/accounting system.
• Reconciles discrepancies and maintains internal controls.
• Coordinates with auditor for external financial audits.
• Ensures VAT, CIT and other tax returns are prepared under local regulations.

An experienced senior accountant who is hands‑on, and able to organize in a very reliable manner all required day‑to‑day accounts tasks with limited supervision. He or she is able to follow exact accounting protocol in book keeping, closing of accounts and methodology for recording complex transactions in a group company structure. At a second stage he or she is able to further structure and improve existing accounting processes and procedures. The ideal candidate has a financial sensitivity, strong ability to sense check numbers confirm accuracy of financial statements and reconcile outstanding balances of selected accounts. He or she is above‑average system literate and capable of gradually taking ownership beyond the direct accounting tasks assigned to him or her.

Responsibilities

• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Documents financial transactions by entering accounting entries in the ERP/Accounting system.
• Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditable documents.
• Maintains accounting controls by adhering to policies and procedures.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
• Prepares adhoc financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Maintains confidentiality and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Ensure proper tax compliance and prepare VAT, CIT and other tax returns under local tax regulations.
• Coordinate with auditor to finalise external financial audits.
• Accomplishes the result by performing the duty.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Support line Manager with special projects and workflow process improvements.

EXPERIENCE

• 3 years’ audit
• 5+ year’s prior experience in Corporate Accounting/general ledger/project accounting/project costing
• Experience working in a large organization/MNC is essential
• Exposure to Capital Intensive industry
• Exposure to SPC’s / SPV’s and multi‑currency organisation structure
• Experience working on ERP desirable
• Experience in working with consolidated financials (regarding this point, we would be willing to consider someone without this experience as it may be difficult to find a lot of junior accountants with this kind of exposure)
• Experience in producing management/SH reports would be an advantage
