Job description

We are looking to hire a Senior Accountant- Accounts Payable for our client, a large Semi Government organization in Dubai, UAE.

This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 6 months and is renewable based on performance.

You will be responsible for Invoice Processing, Payment Service, maintaining Project Payable accounting records, and supporting the payable team in the preparation of Escrow payments.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Review accounting records of the project payable are sufficiently maintained, and supplier payments are prepared on time according to company policy.
  • Monitor the budget adequately, ensuring implementation of budgetary controls and recording the invoice according to the budget.
  • Proactively communicate with the team and provide assistance with department projects.
  • Monitor Utility and Telecom payments on time and ensure proper project records and entity breakup.
  • Support the payable team for preparation and follow-up of Escrow payments and transfers.
  • CAPEX PC booking and verifying (advance, retention, and other deduction) of contractors and consultants.
  • Liaise with the banks on supplier payment matters.
  • Reconciling accounts payable transactions, including researching and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and legal requirements.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA/CFA/CPA) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years in Accounts Payable.
  • Functional knowledge preferred in Oracle System / equivalent accounting system.
  • Expertise in financial management, accounting principles, and technology.
  • Experience in Property / Real Estate and a deep understanding of RERA Escrow account operations are required.
  • Expertise in MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas).
  • Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Preference will be given to candidates available immediately or with a maximum notice period of 30 days.
