Job description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial records. You will oversee day-to-day general ledger activities, month-end closings, financial reporting, fixed asset management, and ensure compliance with internal controls and IFRS standards.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger & Month-End Close

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Maintain accurate account classifications in the general ledger
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet schedules
  • Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Assist in management reporting and variance analysis
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and local accounting regulations

Fixed Assets & Depreciation

  • Maintain the fixed asset register including additions, disposals, and transfers
  • Calculate and post depreciation entries
  • Conduct periodic asset verification and impairment reviews
  • Ensure correct capitalization and classification of expenditures

Inventory & Cost Accounting

  • Review inventory movements and ensure accurate valuation
  • Post and support costing entries tied to production and warehouse activities
  • Collaborate with operations to resolve inventory or valuation issues

Project Accounting & Cost Monitoring

  • Track and reconcile project-related revenues and expenses
  • Assist in cost monitoring for capital projects
  • Coordinate with project teams for accurate and timely reporting

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and reconciliations
  • Minimize audit adjustments and ensure clean audit reports
  • Maintain reliable inventory and asset valuations
  • Provide timely financial insights for business decision-making
  • Support compliance with internal policies and external regulations

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar accounting role
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local financial regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
