Job summary

Manufacturing in the UAE seeks a Senior Accountant to ensure the integrity of financial information, manage payables/receivables, reconcile accounts, and prepare month-end, quarter-end and year-end procedures. The role also analyzes reports and supports audits to uphold strict accounting controls.

The successful candidate will have 6+ years of post-qualification experience, a degree in Accounting/Finance, and professional qualifications such as CPA/CA/ACCA are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger operations and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and record daily asset, liability, revenue and expense entries and reconcile with banks.
  • Process invoices in SAP, manage payment disbursements and monitor aging debtors.
  • Prepare MIS, management reports and monthly management review packs.
  • Assist year-end audit schedules and coordinate with auditors.
  • Coordinate ICV audit reports as required.

Job description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions, reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining accounts payable, receivable and general ledger and preparing month-end, quarter-end and year-end procedures. This role prepares and analyzes the related managerial and financial reports and statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures

Responsibilities
  1. Handle all activities for the accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger as well as financial reporting functions. Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies. Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance and reconciling entries. Summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
  2. Prepare and record daily asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information, showing all receipts and payments to and from the current account and overdraft accounts, incorporating all transactions related to LC (letter of credit), TR (transfer receipts) STL (short-term loan) account and term loan account along with maturity dates and reconciling with banks.
  3. Pay invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling and preparing disbursements, obtaining authorization of payment from the Finance Manager, ensuring timely payments. Enter all invoices for supply of material and services (except body raw materials and shipping services) into SAP. Monitor all un-invoiced DNs (delivery notes) for LC (letter of credit) or CAD (cash against document) transactions on a weekly basis. Monitor, analyze and control customer balances including ageing debtors. Circulate age AR (accounts receivable) report to Sales teams for follow-up with the respective customer for payment. Forward customer balance confirmation certificates to all customers and affiliated companies on a quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis, reconciliation any potential differences between customer and company records.
  4. Prepare the content, analyses and management information reports, Management Pack, Schedules and quantitative analysis, MIS and the monthly MMR (monthly management review) on a timely basis.
  5. Prepare the year-end audit schedule and activities by ensuring all cash receipts, inward remittance, issues and returns of materials are properly coded, valued and entered accurately and in a timely manner. Complete external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
  6. Prepare the reports and schedules for ICV Audit and coordinate with them for ICV Certification.
  • Adhere to internal controls and ensure compliance to all processes and controls.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years' of post qualification professional accounting experience is a must .
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience is a must
  • CPA /CA / ACCA or Masters in in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent will be an added advantage
