Job description

Sky Jewelry Group is seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant (CA) with over 10 years of professional experience, capable of managing any and every accounting function. This role requires a strong grasp of accounting principles, financial reporting, tax compliance, and business operations to ensure accurate financial management and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Accounting & Reporting:
    Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
    Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
    Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
  2. Accounts Management:
    Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other financial accounts to ensure timely processing.
    Supervise the preparation and filing of VAT, GST, and other tax-related reports.
    Prepare and submit statutory financial returns and compliance reports.
  3. Audit & Compliance:
    Coordinate with external auditors for yearly audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations and company policies.
    Ensure that internal controls are maintained and followed to minimize risks and errors.
  4. Budgeting & Forecasting:
    Collaborate with department heads to prepare and monitor annual budgets.
    Provide regular forecasting reports and variance analysis.
  5. Process Improvement:
    Identify areas for process optimization and implement accounting best practices.
    Ensure that accounting software and systems are up to date and functioning effectively.
  6. General Accounting Tasks:
    Handle all financial transactions, including reconciliations and adjustments.
    Manage cash flow and bank accounts.
    Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, inventories, and liabilities.

Key Requirements:

  1. Educational Qualifications:
    Chartered Accountant (CA) with a strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
  2. Experience:
    Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior or managerial role.
    Proven experience in handling end-to-end accounting functions for a medium to large-sized company, preferably in a retail, jewelry, or manufacturing business.
  3. Skills & Competencies:
    Strong knowledge of accounting software (Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
    In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations in the GCC.
    Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    High attention to detail and accuracy.
    Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
    Experience in the jewelry or luxury goods industry is a plus.
