Job summary

Mohamed Hareb Al Otaiba Group seeks a Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with IFRS/GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies across the group.

The role supports budgeting, financial planning, and audits, coordinates with commercial, project, and legal teams, and contributes to the overall financial health and consolidation of group entities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP.
• Experience with ERP systems (Orion).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance.
• Professional ACCA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage contract accounting and related financial reporting.
• Oversee contract revenue recognition, project costing, invoicing, and compliance.
• Handle month-end and year-end closings for group entities.
• Prepare and review financial statements and GL entries.
• Coordinate with project, commercial, and legal teams on financial matters.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Support internal and external audits and tax compliance.
• Perform account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, intercompany).
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable and asset depreciation.
• Identify and implement process improvements.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. The role will support financial planning, budgeting, and audit activities while contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Reporting Structure

• Direct Reporting: Commercial Management

Key responsibilities:

• Hands-on experience in contract accounting and a strong background in the joinery, carpentry, or fit-out industry.
• Experience in managing contract revenue recognition, contract review, project costing, invoicing, financial reporting, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing contract-related financial reporting, reconciliations, invoicing, variations/change orders, and client account settlements.
• Ability to coordinate with project, commercial, and legal teams to ensure accurate accounting and compliance with contract obligations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities across group entities.
• Assist in preparation and validation of group consolidation data.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and general ledger entries
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
• Perform account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, and intercompany)
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Monitor and process accounts payable and receivable
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal controls
• Support internal and external audits
• Handle fixed assets accounting and depreciation schedules
• Coordinate with other departments on financial matters

Minimum Experience and Knowledge:

• Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP)
• Experience with ERP systems (Orion)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance or related degree.
• Professional certification (ACCA) preferred.
