Job description

View Emirates Sports Club seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee accounting functions. This is a key role within the finance team offering an exciting opportunity to manage our organization's financial health.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
  2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records by identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  3. Perform budgeting and forecasting activities supporting other departments in financial planning.
  4. Monitor and analyze monthly financial performance, providing explanations and recommendations to management.
  5. Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting transactions.
  6. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, local tax laws, and regulations.
  7. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
  8. Assist in preparing external audit schedules and coordinate audit activities with auditors.
  9. Train and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience in UAE.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably XERO).
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with high accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and inventory management.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Note: Preference will be given to male applicants due to organizational requirements.
