Job Title: Senior Accountant

Your new company

My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team in Dubai. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a deep understanding of financial management practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Your new role

1. Prepare, examine, and analyze financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
2. Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
3. Manage general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
4. Reconcile bank statements, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
5. Review and ensure compliance with UAE VAT and other tax regulations.
6. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights into financial performance.
7. Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
8. Monitor and evaluate financial processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
9. Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records in accordance with company policies.
10. Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insight and advice on operational matters.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working with an ERP system (SAP preferred)
