Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our client's boutique jewellery firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing VAT and corporate tax filings, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, and leading a team of 2–3 junior accountants. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent financial acumen, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, creative retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily accounting operations and ensure accuracy in all financial transactions.
  • Manage and review the work of 2–3 junior accountants, providing guidance and training where needed.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns and corporate tax in compliance with UAE laws and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support management in financial planning and cost control, particularly for inventory and procurement.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA qualification preferred).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Experience in VAT and corporate tax filing in the UAE is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE accounting standards.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing a small finance team.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Salary : AED10,000-AED12,000
