The Senior Accountant will provide commercial support to the Operating Finance Manager based in UAE and act as Manager as and when required.
He/She will complete assistance in the preparation of credible financial forecasts, budgets and assists in fulfillment of statutory accounting obligations and application of controls, working closely with the shared services team and credit control team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide commercial support and assistance to the Operating Finance Manager in sales contracts.
- Assist in preparation/review of the management accounts for the business.
- Assist in uploading of monthly financials/budgets/forecasts to group consolidation system.
- Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts in consultation with the FM and management team, with assistance from the shared services team.
- Assist in analyzing business performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that enable management to track progress against budgets and improve financial performance.
- Work closely with the OFM in the day-to-day performance management of the laboratory.
- Assist in management and concluding the statutory obligations from an accounting point of view (e.g., year-end statutory audit).
- Assist in managing the direct and indirect taxation of the business.
- Assist in managing the credit control function of the laboratory, coordinating with a team of credit controllers.
- Assist in ensuring that the controls are in place in the accounting for processed samples and advise on the usage and improvement of LIMs systems.
- Work closely with the shared services team for continuous improvement in the processing of transactions and meeting deadlines in group reporting obligations and monthly and year-end accounts.
- Assist in identification, investigation, and analysis of potential operational improvements as appropriate, and based on findings, recommend proposals.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have CPA, CIMA, CA, or any accounting degree.
- Have 4-6 years of similar experience in an ERP environment within a multinational environment.
- Possess excellent verbal communication skills and good writing abilities, with strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Be well versed with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pivot tables, and Outlook.
- Have advanced knowledge in ERP systems/business intelligence software.
- Have strong experience in Profit and Loss statement analysis.
- Have previous/current work experience in GCC.
- Be self-motivated to participate in new projects and learn continuously.
- Possess excellent verbal communication skills to communicate with multiple nationalities.
- Have strong written and oral communication skills in English.
