About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to assist in accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, and experience in the hospitality sector.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP / IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accuracy of entries.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile bank statements on a daily basis, deposit cash receipts into the bank by the next day.
• Perform month-end closing, submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Head Office.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years of UAE experience in a supervisory or senior role.
• Experience with financial accounting software QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting.
• Well versed in IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and IAS 16.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
• Proven ability to prepare and analyze financial statements specific to the hospitality industry, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to management.
• Oversee and guide the accounting team, providing mentorship, training, and support to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies.
