Job Title: Accounting Manager
Job Description:
This role holds the responsibility of ensuring accurate books of accounts, management reporting, compliance with internal policies, audit, and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and ensure the timeliness and accuracy of data processed during month-end closing procedures and recurring items.
- Ensure that all journal entries prior to processing are as per IFRS standards and that all related accounts impacting the financial statements are complete and accurate.
- Prepare month-end account reconciliation for all financial statement line accounts to ensure that all subsidiary ledger reports/account details match with the general ledger and trial balance.
- Provide explanations for any key variances noted.
- Prepare budget monitoring reports required by key management for timely decision-making.
- Implement proper workflow management to ensure all payments and receipts are documented with approvals and records.
- Lead the audit preparation process to ensure timely sign-off of audited financial statements.
- Supervise evaluation of all purchasing documents prior to processing for LPO to ensure compliance with the budget.
- Monitor aging reports from tenants and suppliers to assist management in making timely actions.
- Oversee the work of cashiers.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.
- Oversee non-guest/employee accounts and follow up for clearance.
- Supervise and assist in the submission of turnover rent, service charges, municipality charges, and various tax payments.
- Lead and propose new accounting software in line with the structure of the organization.
- Supervise operations and government relation department to ensure deadlines related to renewals and other government laws are followed to avoid any fines and penalties.
- Ensure proper calculation of royalty fees as per the contract between franchiser and franchisee.
- Ensure that all bank accounts are properly managed and reconciled.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to understand and apply job skills and knowledge of several routines with minimal interpretation.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting practices, particularly with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and related principles.
- Highly proficient in using Microsoft applications.
- Previous experience in using a robust accounting-based system.
- Preferably have previous audit experience.
Experience:
Must have at least 2 years of audit experience and 6+ years of accounting experience.
