A detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee accounting and financial reporting for one or more Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SPV structures, IFRS/GAAP accounting standards, and experience in managing financial operations for structured finance entities such as real estate or investment holding companies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial statements for assigned SPVs.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- Prepare reporting packs for the quarterly / half yearly SPV investors meeting
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, regulatory filings, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Work with tax consultants to come up with tax optimisation structures on a deal-by-deal basis, ensuring that returns to investors are maximised.
- Open companies at Cayman, Jersey or BVI as required for each structure.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis for SPVs.
- Monitor intercompany transactions, loans, and reconciliations related to SPVs.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and legal teams for financial audits and compliance checks.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage tax planning. Prepare and file monthly/Quarterly and annual VAT returns in accordance with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements. Assist with corporate income tax filings, including preparing tax calculations, tax returns, and required disclosures.
- Oversee bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger, and asset registers for SPVs.
- Support treasury activities including fund transfers, interest payments, and covenant compliance.
- Manage cash flow, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and working capital.
- Implement strategies to manage currency risk, interest rate risk, and other financial risks.
- Assist in the setup and dissolution of SPVs, ensuring proper documentation and regulatory filings.
- Provide financial insights and analysis for investment decisions and risk management.
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures tailored for SPVs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CA, or ACCA preferred).
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with exposure to SPVs, structured finance, real estate, or investment vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and consolidation principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple entities and meet tight deadlines.
