Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in student advisory roles in an American-style educational environment.
• Experience dealing with student issues in higher education.
• Familiarity with the higher education system in an American university context.
• Understanding of student advisory and registration processes, including regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of internship solicitation and management within a higher education environment.
• Proficiency in data archiving and analytics.
• Ability to conduct workshops related to internships and student advising.
• Strong report-writing skills.
• Experience with digitization initiatives.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Arrange, schedule, and conduct advising sessions for students.
• Develop understanding of department programs and student services.
• Stay informed about curricular changes, policies, regulations relevant to advising and registration.
• Collaborate with HoD, faculty, and other stakeholders to address advising and registration issues.
• Conduct degree audits for graduating students.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of advising activities.
• Utilize data analytics to assist in scheduling for upcoming semesters.
• Provide backup support for the primary advisor.
• Contribute to digitization of academic advising services.
• Monitor student progress and ensure compliance with program requirements for graduation.
• Identify and monitor at-risk students and provide support.
• Collaborate with departments and industry partners to identify internship opportunities.
• Design and implement strategies to expand internship program and stay current with industry trends.
• Advise students in pursuing internship opportunities aligned with career goals.
• Conduct workshops to educate students on internships and application processes.
• Maintain relationships with employers to create internship opportunities.
• Coordinate career fairs and employer engagement with AUS Career Services.
• Manage internship placement process and match students with opportunities.
• Oversee internship agreements, learning objectives, and evaluation mechanisms.
• Monitor internship program outcomes and generate reports for improvement.
• Maintain records of placements, participation, and employer partnerships.
• Generate insights on internship trends for strategic decisions.
