Job summary

LEAMS Education Group in Dubai seeks a qualified Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs by developing and implementing individualized learning plans and adapting the curriculum.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure Inclusion Policy and Framework objectives are implemented across all phases.
• Assess students' abilities and development to create appropriate plans.
• Adapt curriculum, teaching strategies, and assessments to meet individual needs.
• Develop, implement and review IEPs and Behaviour Support Plans with SLT and parents.
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Plan differentiated learning activities aligned to goals.
• Regularly record progress and communicate with parents and staff.
• Provide guidance to LSAs working with students with additional needs.
• Collaborate with the inclusion team to support an inclusive learning environment.

Job description

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education (along with relevant teaching experience, preferably in an inclusive school environment).

The successful candidate will support students with special educational needs by developing and implementing individualized learning plans, adapting the curriculum, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to promote student progress and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that the objectives of the school's Inclusion Policy and Framework are implemented effectively across all phases.
• Assess students' abilities, learning needs, and developmental requirements to develop appropriate teaching and support plans.
• Adapt the curriculum, teaching strategies, and assessment methods to meet individual student needs.
• Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), School Counsellor, class teachers, and parents.
• Monitor, record, and evaluate learning data and the academic and developmental progress of Students of Determination (SoD).
• Plan and deliver differentiated learning activities tailored to students' individual abilities and learning goals.
• Regularly assess student performance, maintain accurate records, and modify interventions as required.
• Communicate students' progress, needs, and achievements to parents, teachers, counsellors, and school administrators.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) working with students with additional learning needs.
• Collaborate with the school's inclusion team to promote an inclusive, supportive, and accessible learning environment.

Qualifications And Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a relevant qualification.
• Relevant teaching experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Previous experience working in an inclusive school environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, IEP development, and inclusive teaching practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
