What Does a Security Systems Engineer Do?

1. Lead configuration, site handling, and commissioning tasks for integrated security systems
2. Act as the main point of contact between DP World, We One Department, contractors, and consultants throughout project execution
3. Define and communicate technical specifications, interface clarifications, and compliance expectations
4. Conduct site surveys, prepare assessment reports, and propose suitable solutions based on operational requirements
5. Monitor project progress through daily, weekly, and monthly reports and ensure alignment with quality standards and project KPIs
6. Coordinate risk assessments, workshops, and security planning with internal and external teams
7. Represent We One's interests in all DP World-related projects and ensure scope is clearly defined and delivered
8. Collaborate with DP World security teams and engineering offices to ensure effective integration and performance of all deployed systems
9. Provide detailed reporting and participate in project reviews and follow-up meetings as required
10. Handle special assignments from the Line Manager and support ad hoc project requests

What Are the Key Responsibilities?

1. Oversee implementation of security systems including CCTV, access control, and integrated monitoring solutions
2. Ensure functional specifications align with stakeholder expectations and operational objectives
3. Manage cross-departmental communication to resolve technical and operational challenges
4. Track project milestones and escalate issues to maintain schedule compliance
5. Perform quality checks on ongoing installations and commissioning activities
6. Lead coordination efforts for security workshops and technical meetings
7. Support proposal development and recommend upgrades based on site evaluations and security gaps

What Skills Are Needed for a Security Systems Engineer in Dubai?

Education:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Communication, Electrical, or IT Engineering
2. PMP certification is preferred

Experience:

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in the security engineering industry, including at least 3 years in integrated systems commissioning and configuration
2. Background in project execution for large-scale infrastructure or logistics environments preferred

Technical Skills:

1. Expertise in CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and integration platforms
2. Familiarity with project monitoring tools and quality assurance methods
3. Strong understanding of security protocols and system lifecycle management
4. Proficiency in reporting and documentation software (e.g., MS Office, project tracking tools)
