Responsibilities
- A security supervisor monitors staff by patrolling and collaborates with staff to develop safety plans for monitored buildings.
- Monitors electronic surveillance equipment used on the premises and ensures the safety of people on employer premises.
- Assists the manager in planning, coordinating, and directing security and safety programs, including loss prevention, parking/traffic control, and patrolling of physical property.
- Conducts follow‑up investigations of reports of criminal activities and violations of safety standards and accurately investigates all incidents on the property, preparing reports for the Security Manager.
- Investigates lost and found issues, reviews incident reports, and submits the final report to the Security Manager.
- Monitors security officers to enforce security/safety programs that enable company assets to function according to company guidelines, quality standards, and operating objectives.
- Liaises with emergency services (police, ambulance, and fire service) to resolve issues and maintain security and service.
- Identifies unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards; checks that emergency exits are always clear and plays a key role during the fire drill exercise.
- Prepares duty roster, timesheet, and follows up; resolves conflicts among the security staff.
- Complies with governmental legislations in terms of training and licensing; follows emergency procedures to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees.
- Works in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others; anticipates possible hazards and notifies the Security Manager.
- Responsible for security duties in the absence of the Security Manager; communicates effectively with guests, colleagues, and superiors; handles difficult situations effectively.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High School Diploma preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 35 years of experience in security facility management or a similar supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, especially in emergency situations.
- Familiarity with security systems (CCTV, alarm systems, access control).
- Knowledge of building systems and basic maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and facility management software.
