JOB PURPOSE

The Section Head - Finance is responsible for developing the Finance strategy aligned with GDMO’s vision, including core accounting, budgeting, planning, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role involves developing, communicating, updating, and implementing Finance policies and procedures across GDMO. Additionally, the role entails developing the Finance team’s technical and soft skills through various training methods. The role requires demonstrating leadership, financial acumen, and adherence to business policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic finance initiatives, systems, and tools in line with GDMO strategy.
  • Manage the execution of the Finance department’s strategic vision to meet organizational goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with GDMO Directors to support their Finance needs.
  • Lead the Finance team, providing technical guidance and ensuring successful delivery of results.
  • Produce monthly KPI reports and develop talent within the team through ongoing training.

Policies and Procedures

  • Create and update budget guidelines, policies, and approval limits.
  • Manage policies for accounting, reporting, asset management, HR leave and attendance, and credit card usage.

Planning and Budgeting

  • Oversee annual budget processes, ensuring timely distribution and adherence to objectives.
  • Develop financial statements, variance analyses, and manage overall budget utilization.

Accounting and Financial Management

  • Oversee cost accounting, fixed asset management, and financial statement preparation.
  • Manage regulatory reporting and compliance with UAE regulations.

Payroll and Cost Management

  • Supervise payroll processes ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Conduct cost management activities, analyzing key drivers and implementing improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including 4-5 years in a similar role.
  • At least 5 years of team management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years managing budgets.
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration (MBA).
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CMA are preferred.
