Job summary

New Century Education is seeking an ICT teacher for Cycle 2-3 or Secondary School in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will join immediately, possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computing/IT and a recognised teaching qualification, and meet IELTS 5.5 if non-native English.

Preference is given to candidates for Academic Year 2025. The role requires at least 2 years of teaching experience in secondary education, with ability to plan, deliver engaging ICT lessons, and support students’ academic growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computing/Information Technology (QFE Level 7) with UAE equivalency certified.
• A recognised teaching qualification such as a Teaching Diploma, PGCE, QTS, or equivalent licensure.
• For non-native English speakers - IELTS 5.5.
• Preference will be given to candidates available to join for Academic Year 2025.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enrich their expertise in ICT subject area.
• Develop lesson plans ensuring attainment of learning standards and grade-specific standards.
• Coordinate lesson plans with other teachers to reinforce interdisciplinary learning.
• Provide direct and indirect instruction and long/short-term planning.
• Prepare students for required assessments and quarterly achievement reports.
• Create an inviting, innovative learning environment and manage the classroom effectively.

Education

Job description

Job Purpose

To teach and educate students in ICT subjects according to their individual educational needs, abilities, and potential. To inspire and support each student in reaching their academic goals through engaging, personalised, and forward-thinking instruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enrich their expertise in the subject area they will teach.
• Develop lesson plans that ensure the attainment of learning standards and the additional specific grade-by-grade learning standards set forth.
• Coordinate lesson plans with other teachers to maximize possibilities for teaching similar topics in the same general time frame, thus reinforcing student knowledge on an interdisciplinary basis.
• Provide direct and indirect instruction.
• Long and short-term planning addressing individual needs of students.
• Prepare students adequately for all required assessments.Prepare at least quarterly individual student achievement reports for parents.
• Provide an inviting, exciting, innovative, learning environment.
• Engage in effective and appropriate classroom management.
• Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff.
• Serve as an advisor to a students, including organizing advisory groups, overseeing the academic and behavioural progress.
• Supports with implementing the ADEK National Identity initiative.
• Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Principal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (QFE Level 7) in Computing, Information Tecnnology or a related field—properly attested and UAE-equivalency certified.
• A recognized teaching qualification—such as a Teaching Diploma, PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent licensure from your home country.
• For non-native English speakers - a valid IELTS of 5.5.
• Preference will be given to candidates available to join for Academic Year 2025.

Experience

• Secondary or Cycle 2 teaching experience is a must.
• Minimum 2 years teaching experience as a Teacher.
